What Happened on the 9-14-06 Espisode of Survivor. September 14, 2006
Survivor Cook Island 9-14-06:
Welcome back Survivor fans for Round 13. This time it’s Survivor Cook Islands. The season is already under a cloud of scrutiny and a Buzz. (An AOL Gold Rush Buzz as well – Hint Karma is a Bizzle).
If you haven’t heard or seen or read about this years Survivor Cook Islands tribal breakdown and ethnic cleansing – Opps Ethnic division, then you just might be on an island yourself. ( Say Hi to the Professor and Mary Ann for me).
You see last season on Survivor Palau the ratings tanked and Mark Burnett and Co. needed to do something. To shake things up, out went the casting calls and 13 actors or people with SAG cards applied. Not until the 20th member was signed did the cast get their “Survivor Make it Look Like Reality TV Script” did they notice they were typecast and stereotyped by their ethnicity or race.
Mark Burnett “What we can’t find 5 Italians, Irish or Indians? Ok let’s just stick to the basics give me 5 blacks, 5 white, throw in a few Asians and some Hispanics.. Hold the mayo”
Jeff Probst. “ Um boss – is that wise?”
Mark Burnett, “ Listen young Padewan, I am the master!"
The Survivor Cook Island season began with all 20 members on a boat off the shore of Cook Island in the South Pacific. Jeff Probst introduces us to the show and rings a brass bell. The survivors have 2 minutes to grab whatever they can from the boat and paddle towards land.
The Hispanic tribe “AITU” Billy made a reference about his people came from an island to America by boat and now 5 Hispanics are going to an Island by boat. How Ironic wouldn’t one say?
All 4 tribes make it to their Island and attempt to set up camp. The Caucasian / White Tribe known as Rato were able to grab two chickens from the boat. A Major que. That is until “Flicka” Jessica Roller Girl Smith, decided to play what’s in this box and releases lunch and dinner into the jungle of their island. Will they find the chicken again or will we hear the ro0ster crow the entire time?
The tribe made camp and at bed time they decided to lay next to each other for their body heat. A virtual Cuddle Puddle. A Shomance just began between Candice Woodock and Adam Gentry. They snuggled extra close and did mention how cute the other one was.
Meanwhile at the Black African American Hiki tribe Sekou Bunch decided Big Poppa knows best ordered people around to set up camp, gather fire wood, build a hut and build a fire. Fire unsuccessful, but the Hut had a nice palm tree weave, the Nappy Hut was built.
Sekou, Big Poppa Gut, decide it was time to break. From the Kings of Comedy Tour “ When my people Break –we Break!” Sekou Broke, Stretched out on the raft like a beached whale. It’s time to Represent!!
Meanwhile at the Asian camp, Cai-boi “ Cowboy” took control. He cured a migraine with some Mr. Miagi moves, and the Asian tribe had its act together. Give them a week and they will have a convenience store open selling crap to the other tribes.
The Hispanic tribe Aitu also had its act together, one tribe member shimmied up a coconut tree in seconds flat and the tribe has coconut’s for lunch. Well it’s time for Jeff Probst to appear and that could only mean one thing. Immunity / Challenge. All four teams participated in a complicated challenge.
The had to put pieces of a boat together and secure it with beams and pegs, then paddle out to light a touch, return and remove the beams from the boat. Next put puzzle pieces together to from an W S E N, use the beams for a make shift ladder, place the W S E N puzzle in a spot and climb to the top, finally lighting the end touch. As usual Jeff Probst was in Jeff Probst sports commentator mode.
The African American tribe didn’t far to well out the gates
and Jeff was a bit vocal about it. The tribes finished the first
challenge in this order.
The first three tribes got flint, the Asian tribe for winning got a full Fire starter Kit. Jeff Probst said it included Kerosene. Geez give them a Grill and a Wok why don’t you Jeffy!
Needless to say, the losing team had to meet Jeff at Tribal Counsel. In a 3-2 vote Sekou Branch became the first member voted off Survivor Cook Island. So far 3 days done and only a few racial stereotypes exploited. It’s a long season folks!
