Survivor Cook Island Recap 9-28-06
Flicka the Mental Midget

It’s the 9th day on lovely Survivor Cook Island and Mark Burnett and Co feel the Social Experiment of racially divided tribes has run its course. Or they just didn’t have the balls to see it all the way till the end. Regardless the 4 tribes divided ethnically and all the buzz and hype surrounding the decision is now over. The four became two and soon to be one less.

After a short candle light vigil for fallen tribe member Billy “I’m Psycho, but in love” Garcia , well actually it was more like thank Gob he’s gone prayer. Everyone was still reeling from his Love Connection speech and are glad the psycho stalker is booted from the Island never to be seen again except when Jeff Probst embarrasses him again at the final reunion show and winner announcement. Won’t that be fun?

The big reveal and shocker of this episode was the tribes merging from 4 to 2 and mixing the male and female and races. So here is how it went. Jeff Probst makes his famous drop your buffs speech and hardly any of these guys knew what a Buff was. Ladies and Gentleman read your scripts, it’s the bandanas you have on. After another round of explanation of what a BUFF is, all the men line up on one side and all the women line up on the other. Each group grabs a tile from a bag. From that, member that had an X on their tile were chosen as captains. There were two women and two men captains.

The Women Captains were Pravati and Cecilia. The Women were only allowed to chose women one by one and making sure that “each Race” was represented on their side.

Cecila chose Jessica, who chose Sundra who chose Becky who chose Candice

Pravati chose Jenny, who chose Christina, who chose Rebecca who chose Stephanie.

Like wise with the men. The two captains were Brad and Jonathan.

Brad got JP, Nate, Adam

Jonathan got Yul, Ozzy and Cai boi.

Then the four captains got an egg and were told to smash the egg to reveal a color. There was one blue and one red for each male and female team.

So Finally the New Tribes are formed. The Red Team (Aitu) consists of Asians, Yul, Becky, Cowboy, African American Sundra, Hispanics Ozzy, and Cecilia and Caucasians Jonathan, Candice and Jenny “Flicka”.

The Blue Team (Raro) consists of 2 Asian members, Brad, Jenny 3 African American Members, Nathan, Stephanie, Rebecca, 2 Hispanic members, JP, Cristina, and two Caucasian members, Adam and Pravati.

The new tribes then went back to their camp to mingle, sing Kum Bye Ya and get to know each other.

Over at the Red camp Hispanic member Cecilia doing her best Geraldo Rivera impersonation interviews Candice about the odd and strange behavior of Billy towards Candice. It was more like listen sister, what’s the 411 with you and Metal boy? Candice in her southern charm was dazed from the Shock and Awe CNN tonight reporting style of Cecilia.

Jonathan the chess master is thinking Alliances and confront Asian Lawyer Becky Lee. He tells her he has fellow whites Candice for sure and maybe Flicka. Becky’s can bring in Yul and our first official Power Alliance is formed in theory. But like in school and economics, theory only works on paper and rarely in the “real world”. Hence we introduce Jessica Smith, aka Flicka. Remember Flicker, she let the chickens out of the box in week one! Flicka is a Rollergirl with the brain capacity of a peanut. Sorry I don’t mean to offend any peanuts, but Flicka is a hippy chick with way too may acid flashbacks. It’s a Blue stars and Yellow clovers in Flicka’s mind to think numbers, strategy and alliances. Bet she can’t even spell many of those words let alone grasp the concept. Girl just wants to have fun. Borrowing from CBS Big Brother, Flicka is the Cream of the Floaters.

Jonathan works the alliance angle and explains the numbers, the game and the meaning of Life to get Flicka to understand. Maybe if he had an Etch A Sketch and drew a bigger picture the Roller Girl might catch a clue.

Over at the Blue Camp Nathan Finally got some. He caught an Octopus. Meanwhile Privati using the only strategy she knows begins her Flirt campaign. Gag, her flirting is more junior high school than anything. People Privati has to go soon!! The Blue camp seems to be adjusting and has the strongest physical players.

We come to the Immunity Challenge and it’s a throw back from several seasons ago. Two team start at opposite ends of a race track in water carrying sandbag weights of 15 pounds until one team catches the other. Members can drop out but their sandbags must be carried by another member.

The Blue team led by the men (Adam, Brad, Nathan and JP) capture the Red team and win immunity. With the immunity they also get to send someone to Exile Island. The person sent to Exile Island would be absence from tribal council. They pick southern girl Candice Woodcock. At first we think why would they pick Candice, but looking at the tribe dynamics with Candice there are 3 white members. With Candice gone the ethnic diversity is balanced even more. It was a great strategic move.

Jonathan is about to have a hemorrhoid when Candice is picked. He sees his newly formed in Theory Alliance crumbling. Jonathan scrambles and again attempt to convince Flicka, but with out Drugs, a Club or some Alcohol, Roller Girl just ain’t having it.

Yul convinces Cai Boi to join the In Theory Alliance and Mr Miyagi uses his Ancient Asian Mind tricks to sway Flicka to their side. Did I see a Red Dot on Flicka’s Forehead or was that just my imagination. Ol Mr. Miyagi’s mind meld may be the ultimate secret weapon.

As the red team venture off to tribal council to met up with Jeff Probst, the sides are split and either Asian Becky or Hispanic Cecilia are going to be voted off. It comes down to Flicka and Cai Boi’s votes.

In a 5-3 vote Hispanic Cecilia Mansilla is the 3rd person voted of Survivor Cook Island.
